San Antonio Pest Control
Deciding on a San Antonio pest control company commonly requires several things. First, you must review the effectiveness of pest control organizations’ pest management methods. Next, you have to decide if you’re pleased with the customer service that you received from the San Antonio pest control company.
Assessing San Antonio Pest Management Techniques
While considering the success of pest management approaches, ask for the detailed steps that the pest control business will use in the pest management plan. Our staff members usually highly recommend using Integrated Pest Management procedures. We incorporate all available pest management approaches into the pest management plan. We mandate homeowner cooperation for optimum success. Bug elimination techniques include sanitation, exclusion, and using several pest management products.
Assessing San Antonio Pest Control Customer Service
When you are assessing a San Antonio pest control company’s customer service, ask around. Client satisfaction is often a subject of personal preference. Check with your close friends as well as family members. Ask them these questions regarding their pest control service:
Exactly why they picked that San Antonio pest control service?
Have they had bad encounters with other San Antonio pest control vendors?
These are a few questions you’ll want to consider:
- What’s your own chemical tolerance?
- Do you think you’re sensitive to chemicals?
- Are you essentially indifferent?
- Do these proposed procedures fit your current lifestyle?
- If the San Antonio pest control organization asked you to carry out a set of recommendations for sanitation as well as pest exclusion, will you be willing to complete them?
Several San Antonio pest control organizations have carpentry divisions that will carry out small repairs, including repairing leaky pipes, fixing window screens, and caulking cracks for an extra fee.
- Do you need to locate a San Antonio pest control organization that can offer these kinds of extra services?
- Would you prefer monthly, quarterly, or even annual pest control?
Several agreements may allow you to call the San Antonio pest control organization only when you’ve got a pest problem. Pest control products have changed over time so that monthly applications to nonharborage areas are not needed. Despite the fact that most San Antonio pest control businesses service monthly, home owners can check out other available choices. The trend is actually toward more extensive service with a lot fewer trips. One advantage to monthly pest control is that an individual will be checking out
your home for pest problems on a monthly basis. A problem with monthly pest control is that property owners require the pest control provider to use some chemical treatment each month regardless of whether there’s a pest problem. Monthly chemical treatments probably are not needed and may even cause unnecessary exposure to the occupants.
Would you be inclined to have an individual keep an eye on your home monthly and also use a chemical treatment as needed? Frequently it’s not even necessary for the San Antonio pest control company to enter your house to take care of pest problems. Seventy-seven percent of all bugs live outside the house. Treating externally will not require you to be home while the servicing is performed, which is convenient when you
have a busy schedule. Outside treatments additionally reduce interior exposure to occupants. Does this sort of program suit your way of life?
In case you select quarterly or annual pest control, are you gonna be charged when you call the San Antonio pest control vendor for any problem in between scheduled visits? Ordinarily, materials which are listed for Basic Household Pest Control won’t last for the entire 12 months. Yet, you are purchasing the experience of the San Antonio pest control vendor, inclusive of home inspections in hard to get at voids where pests reside, such as attics, soffits, eaves, walls, built-in furniture, and so on.
Various other questions that may tell you about the specialist include:
- Does the San Antonio pest control specialist seem neat and professional?
- Is the San Antonio pest control company on time?
- Is the San Antonio pest control business able to answer the questions you have to your satisfaction?
Some other guidelines include:
- Compare prices and also service, don’t forget, the lowest price tag doesn’t necessarily mean the best selection when shopping for a San Antonio pest control expert.
- Make certain that you as well as the pest control business are clear as to the conditions of your contract.
- Make certain the contract contains the full name of the San Antonio pest control business, the length of service for the contract, precisely what products and services are actually covered, along with the cost.
More details to check on the San Antonio pest control agreement:
- You need to make sure to search for possible exclusion clauses within the agreement. Exclusion clauses specify the items which may cause the agreement to get canceled.
• Could either you or even the San Antonio pest control company cancel?
- Will there be charges applied in the event you cancel the contract?
- Is there an arbitration clause or some other process to settle potential differences which could arise with the San Antonio pest control specialist?
- Ask to look at a certificate of insurance.
- Does the vendor have full insurance coverage along with enough coverage including an “errors and omissions” clause? An “errors and omissions” clause covers things such as accidental soiling on carpeting and rugs as well as accidental damage of items.
- Make sure that the San Antonio pest control specialist is licensed, which means that there is a Qualified Operator in control within 100 miles of the San Antonio pest control office.
- The contract needs to be signed by all parties.

Advance™ Termite Baiting System
What is the Advance Termite Baiting System? The Advance Termite Baiting System is a “next-generation” baiting system we use to monitor and bait termites in structures. Individual termite baiting stations are placed 10-20 feet apart around the perimeter of a structure and monitored quarterly. When and if termites are noticed in the stations, a bait cartridge is applied into the station, which is then fed upon by the termites.
What are some of the advantages of the Advanced System?
Stations are only installed outside the home, and there is no landscape disruption or invasive drilling to your home’s foundation as required by some products. Low impact on the environment, family and pets, as the bait is locked in a secure station with no access by unwanted guests. The system eliminates the entire colony or colonies attacking your home compared to liquid chemical treatments which only address parts of the colony.
Termites work the day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays. Termites work silently and invisibly, sawing into your floor joists, cutting into your wall studs, hollowing out the heart of your home and hiding the damage until it’s too late. One of the greatest hazards any homeowner faces is termites, which cause more
damage each year than fires, storms, and earthquakes combined. Termites survive by eating wood, paper, fiberboard, cotton fabrics, and other cellulose products. If ignored, termites can threaten your house’s structural integrity, and this is where the danger lies. Houses and other buildings provide termites with the ideal combination of warmth, moisture and food. Termites can find ways to enter your house that you’ve never thought of. They are small enough to gain entry into hidden areas of basements,
crawl spaces, and concrete slabs, through openings as small as 1/32nd of an inch.
- Termites can build mud tubes across many feet of concrete, brick, cinder block, treated wood, or metal termite shields into even the upper floors of a structure.
- Termites eat wood from the inside out, often defying detection for years while doing extensive damage to the wood and threatening the integrity of your home. Although small in size they are large in numbers.
Termites congregate in enormous underground colonies that house hundreds of thousands to millions of individual termites. They are dispersed throughout the soil at feeding sites around your home and can forage hundreds of feet from their colony. Termite survival depends on finding edible material to support the colony. Moving out from their colony, they tunnel through the soil in search of moisture and food. They forage around mulch beds, near air conditioner drip lines, and below gutters. They also like tree stumps, decks, buried wood, construction material, and piles of firewood. A loose mortar joint, a small space around a drain pipe, or a settlement crack in the basement is all they need to gain entry to your home.
There are several clear indications of termite infestation. In most parts of the country in the spring and in the
fall of others, reproductive swarmers emerge in great numbers. Sometimes, you may see them swarm or only see signs that they have swarmed. Their wings break off after flight and you may find piles of wings that have dropped off. Often, you will miss the swarm, so be sure to look for other signs of damage to wood or visible mud tubes. If you become aware of any of the signs of termite infestation or your neighbors have termites, call your local professional immediately.
Our trained professionals will inspect inside your home and around your home looking for areas that are vulnerable to termite infestation. We will examine areas where termites forage for moisture and food,
giving special attention to conditions that are conducive to termite attacks such as cracks, voids, and spaces where wiring and utilities pass through walls and slabs.
Typical Sites of Termite Activity ;
Tree stump
Air conditioner drip line
Chimney slightly pulled away from house
Wood-to-ground contact
Wood piles
Stucco/rigid foam insulation below soil
Mulch beds
Damp soil under slab
Poor drainage
Railroad ties
Our Pest Control inspectors are well trained in termite behavior. They know where to look for termites and can determine how they got there. We will recommend the best treatment method for your particular home or business, using the top rated products in the termite control industry today. Not only will our treatment methods eradicate current termite problems, but they will protect your biggest investment for years to come.
TERMIDOR
What is Termidor? Termidor is America’s first 100% termite solution. Termidor is a new type of termite control that for over 5 years has faced the stiffest tests that both US and foreign researchers could throw at it. Without exception, Termidor passed with flying colors. In fact, no other termiticide in history has consistently returned “100% effective” results whenever and wherever it was used. For you, “100% effective” means that you can now choose a termiticide that not only eliminates termites from your home or business for at least the next 5 years. It also gives you 100% peace of mind.
What makes Termidor different?
Just about everything, including the “transfer effect.” It all begins with fipronil. Fipronil is the active ingredient in Termidor, and it works quite differently from other termiticide active ingredients. Many termiticides are
repellents. This means that they keep termites away from a treated area, rather than killing them. But if there’s a gap in the treatment — maybe someone digs up a flowerbed and breaks the line of defense — the repellent effect fails and the termites get through. It happens frequently, and your only recourse is to have
your house re-treated. Termidor is non-repellent. Termites can’t smell it, see it, or feel it. Since they don’t know it’s there, they forage freely in a treated area. The “100% effective” results begin here.
How does Termidor kill termites?
First, and like other leading liquid termiticides, Termidor is lethal to termites, they ingest it (since they don’t know it’s there, they ingest it readily. Second, and unlike other termiticides, Termidor is lethal on contact. This means that termites don’t even have to ingest it to die from its effects.”Transfer Effect” controls the whole colonyTermites are social insects that live in large, underground colonies. They feed each other primarily by passing food from mouth to mouth. They groom each other. They contact each other as they
forage for food. And Termidor takes advantage of this social behavior. As well as eating Termidor, a termite will also unknowingly pick it up and carry it back to the colony on its body. Thus, every other termite it contacts, feeds or grooms will itself become a carrier, contacting and infecting others. But because the
fipronil in Termidor is slow-acting and allows the termite to continue its normal routine, it remains active long enough to transfer the termiticide to a large number of other termites in the colony before dying itself. This combination of ingestion, contact, and “transfer effect” (which is unique, and puts Termidor in a category by itself) routinely provides 100% termite control. No exceptions.
How The “Transfer Effect” Works
Once a termite has ingested or contacted Termidor treated material with its body, it becomes a “carrier.” Every other termite it contacts will be infected…which in turn infects every other termite it contacts. But Termidor works slowly, letting termites contact many others before dying themselves. And although the Termidor effect on individual termites is intentionally slow, the overall colony management is fast.
How long does Termidor work?
Government and other tests in the US and abroad have shown that in almost 6 years there has been no break or reduction in Termidor’s effectiveness. These continuously monitored tests have involved all kinds of soil, widely varying climatic conditions (from San Antonio to Hawaii), and several different species of subterranean termites. Bottom line, this means that you can count on at least 5 years’ worth of 100%
termite protection when you choose Termidor.
Is Termidor safe?
Termidor is registered with the Environmental Protection Agency and is effective at very low application rates. Typically when your pest management professional applies Termidor, the active ingredient fipronil will be just 0.06%. That’s a lot lower than old fashioned termiticides and less than most insecticides. Since 1995,
fipronil has been used globally for flea and tick control on millions of cats and dogs. Fipronil is also used around the world to protect food supplies. Since Termidor bonds to the soil, there’s no leaching through rainfall or irrigation.
Does Termidor smell?
No.
Termidor has virtually no odor. Since it’s applied with water, there’s also no solvent smell.

Some Questions You May Have about Perimeter Pest Control
Why should the outside rather than the inside of my home be treated for pests?
By treating the exterior of your home, pests can be stopped in their tracks before they ever get inside
and invade your family’s living space where they can potentially cause problems and even damage. Studies show that 95% of your inside pest problems come from the outside.
How long does a perimeter pest treatment last?
The perimeter pest treatment we use stops pests in just minutes, while products other companies use can take days to control pests. Exactly how a long a treatment will last varies depending on your specific problem and geography. We will reapply your barrier every quarter, however, if you need extra services in between the quarterly visits, just call our office to schedule an extra treatment at no additional cost to
you.
What should I do to prepare for a perimeter treatment?
One of the best things about perimeter pest control is how convenient it is for you. Unlike an indoor treatment where you are sometimes required to cover and move certain items, there is less preparation on your part prior to the technician making the treatment. Simply close the windows, and pick up any toys, tools, or garden hoses lying next to your house. Another plus: Since the exterior of your home is being treated, you don’t have to be home for the technician to make the treatment.
Where does the perimeter treatment take place?
The pest control product we use for perimeter treatments is applied in a four to five foot band surrounding your home.
Will the treatment harm the grass, shrubberies or flowers around my home?
No. Even with direct contact, you never have to worry about the product we use harming the soil or lawn.
Is there any odor with the treatment?
No. One of the many advantages of the product we use is there’s no bothersome odor for your family and
pets.

Bed Bug Control
Have you been sharing your bed with unexpected guests? Bed bugs are a growing menace that has been on the forefront of concern due to their recent resurgence. This growing epidemic has led to health issues such as skin rashes, psychological effects and allergies. They have also been known to be the carriers of at least 28 human pathogens (though transmission has not been connected). Unlike many other pests, these critters are not attracted to dirty living conditions or bad habits. They are searching for their main source of
nutrition: Blood. Even the cleanliest person can become subject to this ever growing nuisance. This is because bed bugs are not always hidden in beds, but can be found in little nooks and crannies like under dresser drawers, furniture and molding. Often these invaders are brought in by various reasons such as:
Friends and visitors via attached egg sacks to clothing
Visiting Pets
Infected furniture brought in
Even Wild Animals
